Fresh Start Reentry Program
Description
The Fresh Start Reentry Program is maintained by the United States Department of Justice and United States Attorney's Office. Though established through the national office, Fresh Start Reentry Program operates in partnership with the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office and the Oklahoma Department of Corrections to specifically service community members in and around Tulsa, Oklahoma. The purpose of the organization is to reduce the rate of recidivism in the community by supporting formerly incarcerated individuals during the reintegration process. They do this by assisting individuals who have felony convictions access government benefit programs and reinstalling hope that individuals have an opportunity for successful reentry. Fresh Start Reentry Program operates on five principles which provide support at key stages during justice involvement, beginning with support programs inside correctional facilities and culminating in programming for individuals exiting the facility for good.
