The Public Defender's Clean Slate Program at Fresno EOC vigorously protects and defend the rights of indigent clients as guaranteed by the Sixth Amendment to the United States Constitution. The Clean Slate Program is a reentry program that provides free legal services to indigent and low-income persons convicted of offenses in Fresno County who are eligible for record clearance. Clearing your criminal history may make finding employment, obtaining housing, and getting an education easier. Their goal is to clear eligible convictions and arrests to help you get your second chance. We can assist with Expungement, Felony Reduction, Proposition 47, Proposition 64, Certificates of Rehabilitation, Sealing Adult Arrest Records, DEJ for Immigrants and SB384. The Public Defender also represents many people in a variety of mental health proceedings. Attorneys represent persons involuntarily committed to mental institutions, persons unable or unwilling to consent to needed medications, and persons under conservatorship.
