Goodwill Houston

Description

Goodwill Houston is a nonprofit organization that educates, trains and hires individuals experiencing barriers to employment. People, families and communities are connected to improve lives and meet the workforce demands of today and tomorrow. Goodwill Houston offers various programs for veterans, people with disabilities, and youth involved with the justice system. The Life Launch Young Adult Re-Entry program serves justice involved young adults between the ages of 18 to 24 to assist them with their educational and employment goals. This program offers occupational skills training, industry recognized credentials, pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship and expungement services. In addition, the Opportunity Calculator tracks the evolution of youth and young adults as they transform their lives through re-entering formal education, employment, increased career resilience, self-employment and growing a business or starting a business. Other support services include coverage for costs related to transportation, childcare, food, and other household items, such as paying a utility bill to prevent a shut-off. Contact Goodwill Houston directly to learn more about their programs and services.
