Graterfriends

Graterfriends is a publication developed for and operated by incarcerated people which seeks to empower incarcerated individuals. Their mission is to serve incarcerated people by amplifying their voices and sharing their experiences to combat feelings of isolation inside correctional facilities. The Graterfriends Prison Monitors program focuses on issues raised by incarcerated individuals in order to shed light on and improve the correctional system for everyone. Prison Monitors visit correctional facilities around the country, conduct interviews with incarcerated individuals and address concerns with prison staff. Graterfriends also offers a support hotline for families of incarcerated individuals, transportation for loved ones who wish to visit an incarcerated family member and mentorship for justice-impacted people. Individuals can contact the program with questions about specific services.
