Description
The Hyde County Public Defender's Office is located in Swanquarter, North Carolina. This office consists of one Public Defender, Staff Attorneys and other legal staff. Hyde County falls under the 2nd Defender District, covering Beaufort, Martin, Tyrrell and Washington counties. The attorneys represent indigent persons accused of misdemeanors and misdemeanor probation violations, felonies from classes E through I and felony probation violations, felonies from classes A through D in the District and Superior Courts. The Office of Indigent Defense Services (IDS) oversees the work of Hyde County Public Defenders. IDS works diligently to anticipate and resolve systemic issues impacting defenders and their clients.
