Iberia Homeless Shelter

Iberia Homeless Shelter is a community based organization that provides a variety of support services to individuals in need. The mission of the Iberia Homeless Shelter is to strengthen and support the community by providing shelter and housing to individuals experiencing homelessness or other crisis and to advocate for locally driven collaborative solutions that end barriers to chronic homelessness. The Transitional and Emergency Program began in 2005 as a way to assist struggling people in finding gainful employment and permanent housing. Outreach services are offered throughout the eight parish areas served by the Acadiana Regional Coalition on Homelessness. Admissions eligibility requires that all men must be chronically homeless and willing to accept case management services, have valid picture identification, and be able to accept employment. Clients must also be drug and alcohol free and willing to embrace life skills trainings as well as other programs administered by Iberia Homeless Shelter. Contact Iberia Homeless Shelter directly for answers to any questions and more information on their programs.
