Iowa Family Works

Iowa Family Works is a community based organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable women with children throughout Iowa. The program includes long-term (6-9 months) residential chemical dependence and mental health treatment programs in Iowa and Nebraska for adult women with children. The program reinforces and emphasizes the mother-child bond while providing housing, treatment, therapy, and support for eligible women and their children. Support services are currently provided to residents of Council Bluffs and southwest counties in Iowa, as well as Cass, Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy, and Washington counties in Nebraska. While the focus is on supporting women with children, Iowa Family Works also offers the National Fatherhood Initiative program. This program fosters increased engagement and understanding of what it means to be a strong father figure. The organization believes strongly in supporting parents who are motivated to provide the best care possible for their children, and staff work hard to support all clients as they strengthen these relationships.
