Kairos Prison Ministry of Missouri

Kairos Prison Ministry of Missouri is a faith-based organization dedicated to supporting currently incarcerated individuals throughout Missouri. Their mission is to communicate the transformative love and grace of Jesus Christ in the hopes that it will have a strong impact on incarcerated men, women and young people, as well as their loved ones. Together, volunteers and participants share in the compassion of Christ-centered living with the hope that all incarcerated individuals return to the community with faith in their hearts and hope for the future. Kairos Prison Ministry of Missouri is part of an international effort to support incarcerated individuals across the United States and in international prisons. Collectively, more than 30,000 volunteers help pursue the mission of the organization. In a small sample study, researchers found that participants in the Kairos program were significantly less likely to return to prison, and even less so when they continued with Kairos programming after release.
