Leading Into New Communities, Inc.

Leading Into New Communities, Inc. (LINC) is a non-profit organization located in Wilmington, North Carolina that provides transitional living and case management services to meet the immediate needs of men and women returning from prison. They also offer culturally specific youth development services for African American young men ages 16-24. LINC's mission is to educate and motivate youth to make positive life choices and to empower men and women returning from incarceration to be productive members of our community. LINC's Residential Reentry Program provides transitional housing, job training, support for educational attainment, substance abuse treatment, and health and medical services.

The Marvin E. Roberts Transitional Living Campus offers shelter, food and clothing in a therapeutic environment for up to 18 months for men and women, 25 and older who have been recently released from State and/or Federal prisons or local jails. Case management services at LINC include - Short- and long-term goal setting; Employment opportunities; Job skills, interview skills, resume writing training; GED and post-secondary educational assistance; Substance Abuse and Mental Health counseling; Medical Services; Mentoring and Success Tracking. LINC's L.I.T.E. (LINC Initiative to Educate) Manhood Program is a structured enrichment program designed for African American males, ages 16-21, to reduce barriers in education and/or employment.
