LIFT Community Action Agency Tri-County Second Chance Re-Entry Program
LIFT Community Action Agency is a nonprofit organization that assists low income individuals and families in achieving self-sufficiency. The organization offers reentry services to justice impacted individuals in Southeastern Oklahoma’s Choctaw, Pushmataha, and McCurtain Counties. The Tri–County Second Chance Reentry Program provides substance use treatment services and support for adults with substance use disorders. Additionally, the Second Chance program helps with employment, housing and education, and the curriculum—A New Direction, that aims to reduce recidivism rates. The reentry program starts three to six months before release with two one-hour group classes using The New Direction curriculum, which takes 90 hours to complete. It is a voluntary one year program that addresses the lack of substance abuse treatment for incarcerated individuals and those on supervision. They also offer prison based family treatment programs for parents of minor children and pregnant women.
