Description

The Maryland Division of Rehabilitation Services offers programs and services that help people with disabilities obtain and maintain gainful employment. The mission of Maryland Division of Rehabilitation Services is to provide leadership and support by promoting the employment, economic self-sufficiency and independence of individuals with disabilities. They do this with the help of the Office of Field Services, which prepares people with disabilities to go to work and helps them to stay on the job. Rehabilitation counselors in offices throughout Maryland provide or arrange for services that may include career counseling, assistive technology, vocational training and/or job placement assistance. They also offer The Workforce & Technology Center, a comprehensive rehabilitation facility which offers career assessment services, career and skills training, job placement assistance, assistive technology services and support services. Maryland Division of Rehabilitation Services helps people with physical, emotional, intellectual, developmental, sensory and learning disabilities by providing services such as career assessment and counseling, assistive technology, job training, higher education and job placement.
