Michigan DOC Reentry Services

Michigan Department of Corrections Reentry Services are provided to help ensure the successful reintegration of returning citizens. These services operate under the purview of the Department of Corrections with an expressed mission to reduce recidivism rates through targeted support and referrals that give formerly incarcerated individuals the best chance at permanent reentry. Programming includes transitional housing services, life skills development, vocational training and job placement assistance, mentorship and case management. The Reentry Services division hopes that their holistic approach to supporting justice impacted individuals during reintegration will help guide them toward self-sufficient, independent lifestyles and break the cycle of incarceration. This support typically begins during pre-release, with individuals working in collaboration with staff to create a reentry plan and pursue any necessary referrals or applications for support ahead of their release.
