National Offender Reentry Association

The National Offender Reentry Association (NORA) focuses on providing reentry services that assist formerly incarcerated people to become productive and successful. Their main service includes an apprenticeship that allows justice-impacted people to earn a living wage while learning the skills they need to be successful in a trade. Most apprenticeships require no background knowledge, but more importantly a will to learn. Participants should be able to take the skills they learned in the apprenticeship anywhere to get a job, or start their own company after they receive a certification from the Department of Labor. NORA also works with other nonprofit agencies, local and state agencies and potential employers to serve their clients. They also educate clients in legislation, funding opportunities, local programs and best practices.
