New Opportunities, Inc.

New Opportunities, Inc. is a community based organization dedicated to improving the lives of those experiencing generational poverty. The organization provides a number of social services centered on pathways toward self-sufficiency and financial security. As a nonprofit organization, New Opportunities, Inc. provides services at no cost to participants, committing more than $41 million across more than 50 social service programs each year. They offer services related to: Energy Assistance and Weatherization, Fatherhood Initiative, Employment Education and Training, Child Welfare and Family Development Services, Early Childhood Education Programs, Elderly Services, Homeless Shelter and Rapid Re-housing, and Ex-Offender Programs and Re-entry Services. Their Bishop House partners with the Waterbury Community Enforcement Division to provide housing for individuals on community release, providing access to treatment programs and ensuring that all residents maintain full-time employment.
