NorthWest Initiative

NorthWest Initiative

Description

NorthWest Initiative is a community based organization dedicated to the health and care of indigent community members. Many of the programs offered by Northwest Initiative were indefinitely suspended at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, but staff continue to offer court mandated programming in digital formats. Their Outreach program consists of a taskforce committed to identifying individual and family needs, referring individuals to appropriate social service organizations and connecting them with wellness programs that foster sound physical and mental health. The Food Systems Project includes an educational program and partnership with local elementary schools in order to ensure that all children have access to nutritional food options. Advocacy, Reentry, Resources, and Outreach (ARRO) is a project that aims to provide holistic services to individuals returning to the community after incarceration, as well as historically disenfranchised individuals.
