Section Title

NYC Books Through Bars, Inc.

NYC Books Through Bars (BTB) is a New-York based nonprofit organization that sends free, donated books to incarcerated people across the nation. They mail book packages to individuals rather than prison libraries. NYC BTB aims to address educational inequity by providing education, decreasing isolation and empowering those behind bars by providing resources and community. NYC BTB also bridges a gap between the incarcerated and the “free” world by connecting those behind bars with a community of activists on the outside. Incarcerated individuals seeking books can write them at their given address with the name of the book they wish to receive.
