The 10th Judicial Circuit is comprised of Anderson and Oconee counties. The Oconee County Public Defender's Office is located in Walhalla, SC. The Chief Circuit Public Defender manages the Oconee County Public Defender's Office for the Tenth Judicial Circuit along with one Chief Public Defender, two Assistant Public Defenders and two Contract Public Defenders. Altogether, their practice consists solely of criminal defense litigation. They defend adults and juveniles charged with crimes ranging from driving under suspension to capital murder. The mission of the office of the Public Defender is to provide indigent defendants with quality legal representation effectively and efficiently. If you (or your loved one) are currently in jail, their jail coordinator will visit you. Your case will then be assigned to Oconee County Public Defender's Office. If you (or your loved one) are currently out on bond with pending charges, please take a copy of all your warrants/tickets/citations and proof of your income to the County Clerk of Court.
