Oklahoma Innocence Project

Oklahoma Innocence Project (OKIP) is a law clinic at the University of Oklahoma School of Law that is dedicated to identifying and remedying cases of wrongful convictions in Oklahoma. OKIP pursues only cases in which there is credible evidence of factual innocence. Those who would like to be considered for help from OKIP must fill out the application. Before completing the questionnaire, please note that you must not be currently represented by counsel and the crime and your conviction must have occurred in Oklahoma; you must not have participated in the crime in any way, before during, or after the fact; your case must be a Non-capital case; you must have been convicted and denied a direct appeal; you must have at least eight (8) years remaining on your sentence. If your sentence has been served, there is no way to establish actual innocence within a legal framework other than a pardon. A prisoner requesting the assistance of the Oklahoma Innocence Project must fully and legibly complete the questionnaire and return the completed questionnaire to the address provided.
