The Law Office of the Pennington County Public Defender is located in Rapid City, SD. This office is appointed by the courts of Pennington County to represent all indigent persons who, by law, are entitled to be represented by an attorney in the proceeding in which they are involved. With one Director, one Assistant Director and 15 Attorneys on Staff, the Pennington County Public Defender's Office primarily represents adults and juveniles charged with crimes. The attorneys also represent persons for mental and alcohol commitments, other juvenile court proceedings, and appeals and post-conviction proceedings.
