Prisoner Advocate Group
Description
Prisoner Advocate Group is a community-based organization that partners with incarcerated people and their families to improve prison conditions, educate on grave injustices inside facilities, and show solidarity in calling for accountability of the people, institutions, and agencies. Assistance is provided for obtaining medical records, performing basic legal, medical, or similar research, assistance with internal appeals, writing letters to the Warden, Ombudsman, medical staff, and Inspector General, preparation for parole, literacy services for incarcerated people, keeping copies of documentation of prison abuses and supplying resources and information. Additionally, the Prisoner Advocate Group is dedicated to educating incarcerated people, families and communities about 8th and 14th amendment rights and the violations that are currently occurring in Utah jails and prisons. Support is also offered for accessing information about incarcerated loved ones, fighting for prisoners' rights, and keeping individuals safe from Utah DOC policies.
