Redirection-NC

Description

Redirection NC provides housing and support services to formerly incarcerated women in North Carolina and allows them to transition back into community life successfully. This program believes that with the proper support, people returning to the community can overcome the numerous barriers to effective living imposed by incarceration. In addition, Redirection NC works as a community advocate to restore the civil rights of those with criminal histories to housing, employment, government assistance, and the ability to vote. The program's mission is to provide transitional housing and support services to women involved in the justice system who cannot achieve their highest level of self-sufficiency and economic independence to reenter the community as productive members of society. Formerly incarcerated women can also learn from educational and skill-building opportunities provided by the organization. The group believes in empowerment through critical analysis of the world surrounding it. For more information about specific services, contact the organization directly.
