Reentry Center for Women
Description
The Reentry Center for Women (RCW) is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting formerly incarcerated women in finding work, maintaining healthy relationships, and reintegrating into their communities. The organization also provides advocacy and support to this vulnerable community of women who find transitioning from incarceration to society difficult and filled with difficulties. RCW aims to decrease the number of women in prison by empowering female parolees with the required self-sufficiency skills through using best practices and evidence-based practice in criminal justice policy change and program development. It is a positive, nonjudgmental environment designed to help its clients reach their realistic goals. Their work, counseling, education, recidivism reduction, human trafficking elimination, and gang violence prevention programs intend to assist female formerly incarcerated people in functioning as productive members of society through various community collaboration activities.
