Reentry Initiated through Services and Education Project
Description
The Reentry Initiated through Services and Education Project provides civil legal services to mothers impacted by incarceration. The project is located in Seattle, Washington, and the organization serves the entirety of Washington state. A range of civil legal issues need to be resolved for mothers to reunite with their previously incarcerated children. Reunification ranges from placing a child in the parent's home to creating a visitation plan. The project aims to facilitate family reunification by offering free, comprehensive civil legal services to eligible low-income mothers. These services include free legal advice and representation in legal areas such as family law, open adoption enforcement, and domestic violence protections. In addition, incarcerated parents are able to write to the Reentry Initiated Services and Education Project.
