Rhode Island Correctional Industries

Rhode Island Correctional Industries works to rehabilitate currently incarcerated individuals through the Rhode Island Department of Corrections. The mission of the organization is to provide opportunities for individuals to develop vocational skills and experience that will help them to reenter the community and locate employment. Rhode Island Correctional Industries offers incarcerated individuals an opportunity to work in the following industries: Furniture/Upholstery, Print Shop, Plate, Garment, Auto Body, Service Crews, Cleaning Products. Workers gain valuable skills while also participating in programming that helps disengage them from negative elements inside correctional facilities. The skills they develop translate directly to industries in the community that are willing and able to hire individuals with criminal records. Since those who are eligible to receive services from Rhode Island Correctional Industries are state run organizations and nonprofit entities, incarcerated individuals also contribute directly to supporting the communities to which they will return.
