Rising for Justice
Rising for Justice, formerly known as DC Law Students in Court, is a social justice organization committed to training the leaders of tomorrow. They are a nationally recognized organization that trains social justice advocates and represents clients in the DC area who are facing serious legal jeopardy. Their mission is to make equitable justice available to all community members by providing free legal assistance and representation from highly respected attorneys. In addition to representation, the organization offers wrap-around services designed to help individuals make permanent, positive changes in their lives. Their Tenant Justice Program specifically advocates for individuals at risk of or experiencing homelessness as a result of inequitable housing policies. Similarly, the Housing Advocacy and Litigation Clinic actively works toward community advocacy and policy change to ensure that DC residents do not face housing emergencies. Students in the clinic prepare to be lifelong advocates for equitable access to clean, stable housing.
