Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence Prison Ministry

Description

Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence Prison Ministry is a faith based organization serving currently incarcerated individuals. The Catholic Chaplaincy Office at the State Institutions offers support for individuals serving time in the Adult Correctional Institutions, Rhode Island Training School, and Wyatt Detention Center, as well as patients of Eleanor Slater Hospital. Priests provide Mass and communion services each week, hear confessions, administer the sacraments for incarcerated individuals and patients of these facilities, and help with maintaining the presence of the Catholic Church in these state facilities for residents, loved ones, and staff. In order to best serve participants, Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence Prison Ministry is consistently seeking volunteers in the community. These volunteers can assist individuals with locating employment after incarceration, corresponding with incarcerated individuals, assisting ongoing litigation for incarcerated individuals, and more. For more information about the program or assisting with support, contact the organization directly using the information on this page.
