The San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office Post Conviction Review Unit (PCRU) reviews wrongful convictions. Their goal is to ensure fairness, protect public safety and promote justice fairly and independently in the ultimate pursuit of the truth and justice. The mission of this organization is to accomplish these goals through the work of a unit designed to review post-conviction issues. The PCRU is located in Stockton, California. The responsibility of the PCRU is to check claims of actual innocence by petitioners convicted of a crime by the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office.
