Shield Ministries, Inc. is a faith-based organization that offers spiritual and reentry support services to formerly incarcerated individuals. The ministry uses a Christian-based curriculum to help men overcome reentry barriers, promote accountability and responsibility, and provide residential stability and workforce readiness. Shield Ministries also helps individuals understand and comply with their probation and legal requirements. The Workforce Development program includes soft skills training and the Jobs for Life program, where local business owners participate in job panels to help individuals understand the characteristics and success factors employers look for in potential employees. Participants learn how to interview successfully by being honest about their past backgrounds, learn what employers value, how to be assets to their employers, and their importance in the workforce. Other services include life skills education, spiritual development, crisis management and regulatory compliance.
