Description
Society of St. Dismas is a prison ministry with an aim to bring comfort and help to incarcerated people and their family
members through the ministry of the Holy Scriptures and the Sacraments. Society of St. Dismas develops religious programs for incarcerated people/clients, coordinate all religious activities that take place within the facility, provide pastoral counseling and spiritual guidance upon request to those client/incarcerated people of the chaplain’s faith group, Assist any client/incarcerated person with special requests for religious literature, sacred items, holy day observances, dietary needs, or access to an officially credentialed spiritual advisor, provide guidance to facility directors on any matters of faith expression, collaborate with the clinical team by responding to any direct referrals for counseling and/or treatment options, assume the lead role in delivering emergency notifications and assisting with any related crisis counseling.
