Supporting People In Need (SPIN)
Description
Supporting People In Need (SPIN) is a nonprofit organization that provides transitional and permanent supportive housing in the Silver City, New Mexico area. In addition to developing permanent supportive housing units, SPIN offer transitional housing, a 24 hour emergency shelter, and a drop in facility for qualified clients. Transitional homes provide sober living environments, advocates, therapists, and peer support to men moving out of prison, jail, rehab, and homelessness. Homelessness is addressed through various housing options and supportive service models; they are evidence based approaches to reducing homelessness. Supportive care includes social workers helping clients access resources for which they are already eligible but face difficulties finding and acquiring. The Housing First strategy considers home the foundation for life improvement and provides access to permanent housing without additional requirements or conditions.
