Teton Youth & Family Services
Description
Teton Youth and Family Services is dedicated to intervening with at risk youth and shifting them away from the juvenile justice system. Their Court Diversion Services program pursues restorative justice through a balance of accountability, community safety and competency development. The goal of the program is to offer a number of interventions for young people who have been detained by law enforcement, ideally prior to conviction in Circuit Court for first-time offenders. The program also offers probation services for young people with criminal convictions. Though Teton Youth and Family Services recognizes that all youth deserve intervention services, they prioritize first-time offenders because research shows that this demographic is least likely to reoffend following intervention services. Since its inception, the Court Diversion Services program has served more than thirty youth, with over 80 percent completing the program.
