The Way Back

The Way Back

Description

The Way Back provides reentry support to formerly incarcerated individuals to help them go from crisis to self-sufficiency. They guide newly released individuals from incarceration to success in a new life with transformational support, services, and accountability. The Way Back’s goal is to reduce recidivism, generational incarceration, and poverty while providing solutions to barriers formerly incarcerated individuals face upon reentry. Their comprehensive programs include an in-prison program that helps individuals prepare for life outside prison. These programs emphasize behavioral transformation through positive programming in safe, small-group settings that encourage individual reflection and personal growth. The Way Back also provides reentry support for women who have experienced substance abuse and are returning to the community from incarceration. Case managers provide comprehensive wrap-around services, including self-sufficiency development and family reunification. This program serves women with a history of substance abuse in the Dallas County Specialty Court SAFPF Program. They provide mentoring from a Peer Support Specialist focused on Cognitive Behavior Intervention, whole-person care reentry support and case management.
