Next Steps is a program operated by Workforce Alliance to provide support for formerly incarcerated individuals during reentry into the community. Next Steps understands the difficult barriers that many individuals face when they attempt to enter the workforce with a criminal conviction. The program assists job seekers who are exiting the corrections system by facilitating important job training services, life development courses and partnership with local employers. Next Steps also works directly with government agencies, including the court system, police, probation and parole officers. They believe that these partnerships help ensure the best chance for successful reentry for all individuals. For those selected to enter the program, the process begins with mandatory virtual meetings over the course of five days. Individuals who fail to attend all five days are ineligible to enter the program.
