Missouri Appleseed

Missouri Appleseed is an independent nonprofit organization. They are one of seventeen independent centers that make up the Appleseed network. The network office is located in Washington, DC. Missouri Appleseed's mission is to develop solutions to problems in the communities to provide all Missourians an opportunity to live healthy, dignified, and productive lives. Using research, advocacy, and education, Missouri Appleseed works on issues at the intersection of criminal justice reform and public health. Missouri Appleseed's current projects include Establishing a Prison Nursery in Missouri, Community-Based Sentences for Primary Caretakers, Medicaid Suspension for Justice-Involved Individuals and the Visitation Rights of Children with Incarcerated Parents. In addition, they have formerly worked on projects like Feminine Hygiene in Prisons and Jails, Mental Health Law Survey and Education and COVID-19 in Missouri Prisons and Jails.
