The Georgia Public Defender’s Office is the central office located in Atlanta, Georgia. With seven Council members and at over 400 attorneys, they are dedicated to providing zealous criminal defense to low-income Georgians. The central office is the administrative arm of the Georgia Public Defender’s Office. It provides executive leadership to the circuit public defender offices, including communications and human resources. The mission of the Georgia Public Defender’s Office central office is to ensure that Georgia’s indigent defense team has the guidance and support necessary to provide effective and zealous client representation. They operate without political considerations or the influence of private interests. The Georgia Public Defender Council is an independent agency within the State of Georgia’s executive branch.
