Inmates to Entrepreneurs

Inmates to Entrepreneurs is an expansive program dedicated to assisting justice involved individuals who face barriers to employment. Their mission is to offer support for individuals with criminal convictions by way of business oriented coursework focused on entrepreneurship. This coursework is offered both online and in-person to accommodate the schedules and needs of a diverse population. The goal of Inmates to Entrepreneurs is to disrupt the cycle of recidivism and offer justice involved individuals a pathway toward permanent financial security. Volunteers and staff believe strongly that entrepreneurship acts as a solution to the barriers that formerly incarcerated individuals typically face when returning to the community. They offer a number of programs to meet the needs of all individuals. Eight-week courses are offered in-person, while the Starter U program features free online courses. The organization also operates boot camps inside select correctional facilities to assist individuals nearing release. Inmates to Entrepreneurs also operates the television show Free Enterprise, which gives individuals across the country access to key insight into entrepreneurship and financial independence.
