Women in Need, or WIN, is a non-profit organization that offers community support services to women and families in need. Since their inception in 1996, Women in Need has been serving the community of Hawaii with the mission of empowering Hawaii's families to lead healthy and full lives. This mission statement provides the framework for their organization to give women and children a safe place to live while implementing programs to help them develop and maintain self-sufficiency. Although transitional housing is a main support service, Women in Need also offers support services for child welfare services, parenting practice, reintegration from incarceration, coping skills, one on one guidance, intensive outpatient substance abuse recovery classes, resource referrals, employment assistance, clothing closet, Women of Win support group, and much more. Women in Need believes in holistic healing that serves women leaving problematic situations such as domestic violence, substance abuse and incarceration.
