Michigan Ability Partners (MAP)

Michigan Ability Partners is a community based organization dedicated to eliminating homelessness in the community. Potential clients must begin with referral from Housing Access of Washtenaw County, after which staff consider eligibility and needs against available housing options for each client. The goal of Michigan Ability Partners is to ensure that justice involved individuals have access to a safe, stable community, as well as wraparound services that address the various barriers many face when returning to the community after incarceration. Their permanent housing program targets individuals who have experienced chronic homelessness, offering subsidized rent and long-term support services that help facilitate successful, independent living. In order to participate in this program, clients must demonstrate both that they are indigent and that they have a documented disability. Rapid Re-Housing is a program that focuses more on emergency services for individuals who are experiencing temporary housing insecurity for a variety of reasons.
