Urban League of Detroit and Southeastern Michigan
The Urban League of Detroit and Southeastern Michigan (ULDSEM) is a nonprofit organization. Their mission is to enable African Americans and other persons of color to achieve their fullest potential. ULDSEM provides critical services to disadvantaged citizens, organized the unorganized, and has established and promoted leadership of service to the greater Detroit community. The ULDSEM utilizes a three-pronged approach to program delivery, focusing on research, service, and advocacy while employing multiple service strategies tailored to local needs. Their strategies include Education and Youth Empowerment, Economic Empowerment, Health and Quality of Life Empowerment, Civic Engagement and Leadership Empowerment and Civil Rights and Racial Justice Empowerment.
