Sanford Health Behavioral Health Center offers strategic interventions and supports for individuals with mental health disorders. Their New Beginnings Reentry Project has a mission to support justice involved individuals and those at risk to enter the justice system through a targeted process of screening, intake and continuing services. Staff endeavor to reduce the rate of recidivism by assisting formerly incarcerated individuals with identifying underlying mental health disorders that may contribute to the cycle of incarceration. This includes: Rule 25 assessments, needs assessments, cultural assessments, and intensive case management services for qualifying individuals. Referral and assistance services include treatment for substance abuse, support during the recovery process, mental health screening and treatment, vocational services, residential programming, medical and dental health assistance. Sanford Health Behavioral Health Center hopes that this combination of services will give individuals the best chance at permanently returning to the community.
