Federal Public Defender for the Central District of Illinois’ Springfield Office

The Federal Public Defender for the Central District of Illinois' Springfield Office is a branch office located in Springfield, Illinois. With around three Assistant Federal Public Defenders, the Springfield office represents citizens accused of federal crimes in the Central District of Illinois who cannot afford to hire a lawyer. This office is appointed by the court to represent clients. The Federal Public Defender's office also represents individuals appealing their convictions in the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. In this capacity, the office represents individuals appealing their convictions from any federal district within the Seventh Circuit upon appointment by the Court of Appeals.
