The San Diego County Alternate Public Defender's Juvenile Justice Division is located in San Diego, California. The Juvenile Delinquency Division represents minors accused of truancy or criminal offenses. Juvenile delinquency cases are handled in the Kearny Mesa office. The APD offices have more than 50 Deputy Alternate Public Defenders, Investigators, Support Staff and Volunteers. The mission of the San Diego County Public Defender's Juvenile Justice Divison is to protect the rights, liberties, and dignity of juveniles in San Diego County and maintain the integrity and fairness of the American Justice System by providing the finest legal representation in the cases entrusted to them. The APD is responsible for defending those cases where the main Public Defender has a conflict of interest or is unable to defend the individual for various reasons.
