The Livingston County Public Defender's Office is located in Howell, Michigan. The mission of the Livingston County Public Defender's Office is to protect the fundamental rights, liberties and dignity of each person whose case has been entrusted to us by providing the most acceptable legal representation. With one Chief Public Defender, one Chief Assistant Public Defender, two Assistant Public Defender I, two Assistant Public Defender II, one Assistant Public Defender III, and one Lead Investigator, the office provides representation with the highest level of preparation, legal knowledge, and training possible to citizens charged with a crime who cannot afford an attorney. The office's vision is to help children and families who interact with the Court feel valued and supported and achieve successful rehabilitation, reunification and permanency through creative, individualized services.
