Crawford County, PA Public Defender’s Office
Description
The Crawford County Public Defender's Office is located in Meadville, Pennsylvania. With one Public Defender and five Assistant Public Defenders, the office furnishes legal counsel to any person charged with a qualified criminal offense. Unfortunately, the office cannot obtain legal counsel for lack of funds as determined by office guidelines. The office represents cases like Criminal Charges, Probation or Parole Violations, Domestic Relations Contempt, Protection from Abuse Contempt, Driving Under Suspension-DUI Related and Juvenile Petitions. Public Defenders have an ethical responsibility to work for the best possible resolution of the case for the client. Therefore, all dealings between a court-appointed attorney and the client are confidential. Attorneys who provide public defense representation are not only subject to the Pennsylvania State Bar's ethical requirements that govern all lawyers but must also meet qualification standards that have been established for public defense representation. Please visit their website for who qualifies for representation by the Public Defender's Office and how and when you can apply.
