South Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program
Description
The South Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program is a nonprofit organization committed to providing legal services for all individuals. Their mission is to offer pro bono legal services to qualifying low-income individuals and families in the communities of Mobile, Baldwin, Clarke and Washington counties. Volunteer attorneys with the program are committed to providing legal representation, assistance with legal documents and legal advice at no cost to individuals who otherwise may not be able to afford an attorney. The large coalition of lawyers is equipped to provide expert advice for most civil services, but they are not able to offer representation or support for criminal cases at this time. In order to receive services, individuals must be over the age of 19 and meet low-income thresholds based on their county of residence. For more information or to request services, individuals are encouraged to contact the organization through the South Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program website.
