Rockford Reachout Jail Ministry

Reachout Inside Jail Ministry is a faith based program that works with incarcerated men and women in the Winnebago County Jail. Volunteers provide spiritual coaching and guidance, prayer services and assistance preparing for a productive, return to life after being released from incarceration. Their hope is to disrupt the cycle of recidivism for all participants. They pursue this goal through a combination of addiction recovery services, personal values and accountability practice, life skills coaching and family reunification efforts. Reachout Inside also provides support services to individuals with incarcerated loved ones to help individuals and families remain connected and to assist families while loved ones are inside the corrections system. In addition to weekly classes, Reachout Inside also provides individualized pastoral support to incarcerated individuals. Reachout Outside works with community partners by pairing men and women who are returning to the community after incarceration with certified life coaches. Through a combination of prayer, encouragement and Christ based teachings, their life coaches instruct students on how to set goals and hold themselves accountable to those goals.
