The Federal Community Defender Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee's Knoxville Office is the main community defender office for the Eastern District of Tennessee. With one first assistant federal defender, one supervisor assistant federal defender, and eleven panel attorneys on staff, the Knoxville office provides representation of indigent defendants in the Eastern District of Tennessee by appointment from the federal courts pursuant to the Criminal Justice Act (CJA). The Federal Community Defender Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee's Knoxville Office is solely funded by an annual grant from the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts.
